Overall, my stay at Live Oak was decent, the location was super convenient to downtown Charleston, but there were a few hiccups. My room was clean and comfortable, plus the valet service was excellent. However, I did have an issue with missing items from my room that was a bit strange.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious and very clean, though I did notice one uncomfortable chair. The view of the pool was nice too.
Service
6.0
The front desk staff was polite, but I had mixed experiences. While the valet team was great, another staff member was a bit rude when I had to deal with a service issue at the restaurant.
Location
8.0
The location is a major plus! It's super convenient to walk to some restaurants and attractions, but I did feel the area seemed a little dodgy at night.
Dining
7.0
I didn't eat at the restaurant often, but when I did, the service was pretty fast, although they weren't very attentive at times. The food was good when I finally got it.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were decent, but I found it annoying that there was no microwave in my room and had to go downstairs to heat things up.

5.6/10

I enjoyed my stay mainly due to the convenient location and the excellent service from staff members. The hotel is near King Street, making it easy to explore the area, though it would have been better if the hotel were more centrally located in the Historic District. While the amenities were decent, I did notice a few inconsistencies in service that could be improved.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean and comfortable, but it did show signs of being dated. The furnishings could use some updating, which left me wanting a bit more for the price I paid.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly and generally polite, though I experienced some inconsistency with customer service. Some team members were great, but I encountered issues getting late checkout and had a problematic experience with the restaurant manager over breakfast vouchers.
Location
7.0
Location wise, it was a great spot near King Street, allowing easy access to shopping and dining. However, it's not exactly in the Historic District, which may be a drawback for some travelers.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were fine for a basic breakfast, though I felt the menu could showcase more Southern cuisine. Additionally, the price of breakfast was a bit high for what was offered.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were well maintained, including a gym and pool area. However, I found that the pool could be cleaner, and it lacked sufficient lounge chairs.

7.2/10

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Live Oak. The location was great, making it easy to explore downtown Charleston. However, I faced some challenges with parking and had issues with the room's ventilation. The service was friendly, but some aspects of the dining could use improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms felt a bit confined and stuffy, especially since the windows don’t open. They weren't nasty and were decently clean, but I did notice a musty smell after some time.
Service
7.0
While the breakfast team was friendly and helpful, I found the overall service inconsistent. During check-in, it felt like we waited a while before being acknowledged.
Location
9.0
The location was perfect, situated within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. It’s great for anyone wanting to explore King Street and the surrounding areas.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were a bit limited and very sweet, lacking healthy choices. The overall dining experience could use a bit more variety.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had good facilities like valet parking and room service, but parking was quite pricey at $35 per night. I appreciated the welcome drink and the spacious lobby, though.

7.0/10

I had a pleasant stay overall, with a great location near King Street, though there were a few drawbacks. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and the room itself was fairly spacious and comfortable. However, the housekeeping could use some improvement, and there were issues with a musty smell in the room due to the ventilation system.

Rooms
7.0
The room was spacious and had comfy beds, but it felt a bit dirty with some concerns about the overall cleanliness. I noticed a musty smell which I was told might be from a nearby paper mill.
Service
7.0
I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially during check-in. However, some of the employees in the hallways did not greet me, which felt a bit off for a welcoming atmosphere.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect for exploring downtown Charleston, just a short walk to King Street and a variety of restaurants and shops, making it convenient for everything I wanted to do.
Dining
6.0
The on-site restaurant offered light bites, but I found that breakfast was supposed to be included and yet they attempted to charge us, which was confusing.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered various facilities like room service and valet parking, but I felt the parking options were somewhat misleading. I managed to park in a lot for a cheaper rate than the valet.

6.0/10

My stay at Live Oak was a mixed bag. The hotel's location was excellent for exploring downtown Charleston, with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. However, the service left much to be desired, with inconsistencies that detracted from my experience. Overall, while I enjoyed the atmosphere and cleanliness of the hotel, the service issues and additional costs for parking made my stay less enjoyable than it could have been.

Rooms
5.0
While the Standard Queen Room was clean, I found the lack of a microwave surprising given the price. The room was spacious but felt a bit dated, and I would have appreciated more comfort in the bed.
Service
5.0
The staff's friendliness varied. While some were helpful, check-in was unwelcoming, and I encountered rudeness at the bar regarding a billing error. Overall, I expected better service and more attentiveness.
Location
7.0
The location was definitely a highlight, as it was within walking distance to great dining options and downtown attractions. However, I was slightly uneasy about the surroundings, particularly the gas station across the street.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience wasn't bad, as I enjoyed my meal, but the bar prices were higher than expected. Better options are available at nearby local bars, which offer a more vibrant atmosphere.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel's facilities were decent, offering free Wi-Fi and a water station in the lobby. However, the lack of a microwave in the room and the need for paid valet parking were drawbacks.
